This month marks the end of an era at Universal Civil as we bid farewell to one of our longest-serving and most cherished vehicles – our International S3600 Tipper Body Truck, fondly known as “By Crikey.”

Since our beginnings in 2001, By Crikey has been a constant presence on projects across South East Queensland. More than just a truck, it became part of the identity of Universal Civil, a symbol of the hard work, reliability, and commitment that our company is built on.

The truck holds a particularly special place in our history, as it was driven for many years by Steve Biondic, father of Director Peter Biondic. Stevie worked with Universal Civil for over 15 years, and in that time, he and By Crikey became an inseparable team on site. Their presence together represented the values we strive to uphold every day – dedication, teamwork, and pride in a job well done.

As we farewell By Crikey, we acknowledge not just the countless hours and kilometres it has put in, but also the people and memories attached to it. While we continue to grow and move forward with modern machinery and new technologies, this truck leaves behind a legacy that will always remain part of our company’s story.

Though it’s hard to see it go, we take pride in knowing that By Crikey has served its time with honour, contributing to the foundation and success of Universal Civil. For us, it’s not just the departure of a truck – it’s saying goodbye to a chapter of our history that has shaped who we are today.
